NIO Formula E racing team
Having worked with NIO previously, we were contacted by the Formula E racing team to provide our printing and installation expertise.
The Team were supporting the inspiring Dare To Be Different Organisation ‘Girls On Track’ event.
Based at the Silverstone circuit, it aimed to promote and develop young women in motorsport at grassroots level. This was a great opportunity for NIO to showcase their new race car livery and raise brand awareness.
We were thrilled to wrap the NIO GEN II show car for this event.
The design of the race livery was the product of many months of work by the NIO brand team and represented a radical departure from previous NIO race car liveries.
It was uniquely aligned with the introduction of the all new, futuristic Generation 2 race car, and looked much less like a Formula-1 car (something the sport has been trying to differentiate itself from).
Raccoon printed and prepared the livery elements for the installation team who then fitted the wrap at the NIO Formula E Team workshop located in Donington Park Circuit, Derby.
We chose a premium cast film by Arlon with superior conformability around rivets, curves, contours and channels.
This ensured a perfect, long lasting result for the vehicle and allowed our technicians to achieve a speedy installation given time was of the essence.
This film was protected with a gloss overlaminate, which provided an extra pop to the printed graphics and improved durability of the wrap.
The combination of these materials ensured a smooth, paint-like finish for the striking teal and white chassis, and it delivered the ultimate wow factor as the vehicle was put on display at Silverstone Circuit.
